Today marks the first day of Fall. Time to trade our swimsuits for sweaters! Besides changing leaves another event I’m looking forward to is Halloween.
While I’m not sure how Halloween is going to look like in 2020 due to the pandemic, I still think it’s a good excuse to dress up and have a good time.
Perhaps have a small gathering of friends for a spooky movie (over Zoom – of course! 😓 😑)
This post is going to show you 70+ college Halloween costume ideas for girls to go all out this year!
If you’re new here – welcome! Don’t forget to read my previous blog post – THRIFTING 101: HOW TO THRIFT SHOP LIKE A PRO
Outfit 1: Cher from Clueless
The ultimate 90’s aesthetic outfit! I love that this one is fairly affordable to put together and easy to re-create. This can also be a great best friend costume.
Costume 2: Anime Characters
Oh my goodness – so many great choices in this genre! From nostalgic Sailor moon to more recent Hunter x Hunter’s Neferpitou.
Costume 3: Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family
Wednesday Adams is my go-to suggestion for an easy costume. Find a black dress, place a white collared shirt underneath, two pigtails and dark, dramatic makeup, and voila!
BONUS: If you’re feeling really creative, Cousin It is also a great choice too!
Outfit 4: Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction
Another 90’s throwback. With the resurgence in 90’s fashion, I’m loving character looks from this era – including this one. This costume is great if you’re looking for a sexy costume that ventures beyond the “sexy nurse” or “sexy cop” archetypes.
Costume 5: Halloween Donnie Darko
If you’re blessed with the talent to create amazing special effects makeup, this looks is great for you! You’ll definitely turn heads and I could see this one winning best costume awards at parties.
Outfit 6: Elvina Hancock and Tony Montana from Scarface
The ultimate couples costume that’s not cheesy. You could probably find most of the items in your closet or a local thrift store if you’re on a budget.
Outfit 7: Eleven from Stranger Things
The most iconic Stranger Things costume. I love visiting Pinterest and seeing so many imaginative versions of this ensemble.
Hopefully, these costume ideas give you some inspiration this year. Don’t forget to follow me on my other social media platforms for more inspiration: Tiktok, Instagram and Pinterest.
2020 is a complete mess and although I want you to have fun- remember we’re still in the middle of a pandemic. Unfortunately, Halloween marks the beginning of flu season so stay safe and respect the stay at home orders in your area.
XOXO,
Monaco Jones
